Madhya Pradesh: Eid was celebrated all over Madhya Pradesh amid lockdown. Traditions did not break so four to five people offered prayers at mosques and Idgahs. Some people also prayed in the Taj-ul Mosque of Bhopal.
Uttar Pradesh: In other cities including Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Prayagraj and Amroha in the state, people celebrated Eid at home. Markets and roads were deserted and police were kept watch outside mosques and dargahs. Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli recited the Namaz with five people at the main Namaz Aishbagh Idgah in Lucknow. The gates of Agra mosques were also closed.
The royal mosque at the Taj Mahal in Agra also did not open. Others including Ibrahim Zaidi, chairman of the Taj Mahal Mosque Management Committee, prayed outside the Taj Mahal complex.
